We have to give a hearty thank you to Joellen's sister Naomi (Gnome, as I like to call her) and another to Gizelle and the Marr family for making last night possible. Jo and I went out for a night on the town for the first time since Asher was born. Gnome purchased us concert tickets to go see one of our favorite bands / artists named
Teitur (pronounched "tighter") at the
Doug Fir Lounge in Portland. We left Asher with the Marrs and yes, it's true what they say... it's kind of tough to leave him that first time, but Gizelle said he did great and I'm sure he had lots of fun. I know we did!

We had a free dinner certificate for McCormick & Schmicks so we stopped up there on our way to the show. The concert wasn't scheduled to start until 9:00 PM so we didn't actually make it home until around 2:00 AM this morning which is something neither of us has done too much of lately. I guess you get out of the habit of being up all night :)
So again a big thanks to Gnome & Gizelle for a fun night out yesterday. Today, we finish moving the last of our stuff out of the old place. All the big stuff is moved... now, we just have to take care of a million odds and ends. It's amazing how much stuff we pick up along the way through life :)
So, things are going, slowly but surely! Moving is always worse than you remember :-) It's all the kitchen stuff that is difficult, and then the rest of the random junk that you just throw in boxes and never unpack. Mark and I are finally just throwing or giving things away. And I have a principle about sentimental stuff... If I die and someone else is going to feel bad about throwing something away, something that has no real purpose but to look at and possibly reminisce about... throw it out! I don't want anyone to ever feel bad about throwing away my stuff when I'm dead - for all I care, sell it and make a profit! Well, maybe I'll have to check with Mark on that one :-)
Mark starts his new job on Monday! Yay! I'm excited to get to hang out with him on Saturdays instead of him going to work... we can actually do stuff with other friends who have a regular M-F jobs. We're both so excited for this new job and we're blessed that Paul really values Mark the way he does.
Asher is growing and growing (what's new). He's wearing a lot of the 6-9 month clothes which is totally crazy! He's huge! But still so cute and small. But he's holding his head up pretty steady and he's starting to try and laugh. It's like a little chuckle that makes me laugh so hard, then he chuckles a little bit more too.... so much fun! I'm really looking forward to all the new things he learns... using his hands, saying mama and dada... I can't imagine what kinds of joy this little guy is going to bring us. He better after all, he's a lot of work right now ;-) But really, he's getting easier and easier... so many fun things are going to happen in the next couple months I just cannot wait!
Anyway, I can't think of everything I wanted to share... my prego brain is here to stay! Love you all!

Well folks,
We're partway moved into Kory's house and so far, it has been wonderful. It's much more peaceful out here, even with the assortment of people always coming and going. Our landlord from the place on Fellows has given us the green light to vacate as soon as we want since he's already lined up our replacement tenants. Now all we have to do is find the time to sell off the remaining items we're not going to move and move the rest over here. Believe me, these days that's easier said than done... which brings me to my next point.
Work has been picking up substantially for me through Goldstreet and I have been putting in some really late nights and early mornings. In fact, I even had to call in on Tuesday to AT&T because I had more work than I could get done and tight deadlines. Anyway, to make a long story short, I've been talking with my business partner John about resuming a larger role within the company and will be doing so over the next few weeks and months. I've also been offered a job with an entrepreneur from our church who needs some admin and sales help. It sounds like a great opportunity but I can't really get into it here. I'll be meeting with him Monday to discuss the job in more detail.
So there you have it. Sayonara AT&T :) I can't say that I'll miss anything about that Job. Wait let me think about it a second... nope. Not one thing.
That's all the time I have. Here are a few gratuitous photos for your viewing pleasure!
Here I am at the dining room table in a perfectly still house with the
faint sound of a rooster bidding the world "Good Morning" just far
enough in the distance to be quaint rather than obnoxious. It's a
wonderfully peaceful time I didn't realize how dearly I missed until
now...
We are partway moved into Kory's house and will be completely in by
June 4th. It's great to hear birds rather than motorcycles and silence
rather than thumping salsa music! Sometimes at night during the summer
at our place on Fellows st, it really felt like our bed was strattling
the median in the middle of the road. I thought I was going to get run
over a time or two!
Anyway, I'll fill you all in on some exciting new developments in my
next post... But for now, I just want to share the beautiful calm of
this morning with you :)
Just wanted to post a couple cute photos! Enjoy :-)

"Aren't you going to play with me mom?"
"I just discovered my tongue!"
