The Armstrongs
Not the first, and not the last, but we are down the line of a long history of Armstrongs. Our family has a beautiful history as well - one where many of the Armstrong men know and love the Lord deeply. I (as mother) am truly honored to be part of this family line where, I pray, my children will carry on the legacy.
First, there is Mark! Wonderful husband and father, Mark loves music, learning, his iPhone and coffee!! He works hard helping eBay develop their iPhone apps.
Then there's me, Joellen. I love to write, knit, learn, workout (though I haven't lately due to small kiddos and my own energy crisis), take photos and make jewelry. God is teaching me so much about discipline (in my own life) & grace.
Asher is our firstborn and is a budding brainiac. He is a natural helper & has some quite impressive opinions. He often needs a bit of time to reflect before giving up and saying he's sorry, but it's so neat to see God working on Him already. He's a fast runner, an excellent student & really enjoys anything outdoors. We love him to pieces.
Cole is our 2nd boy (born August of 2009) and is such a sweety. Very laid-back, light orange hair and the cutest smiler I've ever seen. Him & his brother Asher get along so well (about 75% of the time) and it's fun to see & hear them talk & play together. Cole might be the most enthusiastic child you've ever met & he often repeats things you didn't even know he heard.
Jovi is our baby. Born June 2013, she is growing, changing & depriving us of sleep every day ;) She's very sweet, a little stubborn & always on the move. She loves her brothers & giggles for them endlessly, which is music to our ears.
I am enjoying watching these children grow up and earnestly try to teach them who God is & what He has for them in life. We are homeschooling & loving it, despite the sacrifice & exhaustion. I know it will be worthwhile to spend this extra time investing in my children & pray that I can be a positive influence throughout their entire lives.
Mark and I are newly committed to Sellwood Baptist Church. Our dear friend is the new Pastor there (and my best friend is his wife). We will be moving out there to East Portland & settling in, putting our efforts toward reaching the lost & revitalizing the down-hearted. Pray for us in this mission!
